Did you bring a Banner?…

Every visiting Rotarian is asked this question, and throughout the years our Club has collected and distributed hundreds of Rotary Club Banners.

This tradition actually began in 1913 with the Rotary Club of Galveston, Texas.  Today Rotary International has a collection of over 20,000 banners.

We need to catalog and reorganize our collection.  If you would like to work on this project, contact President Linda.

Promote Rotary in Sedona…

Community Service is one of Rotary’s four avenues of service.  Last year our Club helped the Blue Grass Festival, the Salvation Army, St Andrew’s Dinners, Adopt-a-Highway and many more agencies and individuals.  Our program this year promises to be even more active in outreach community activities.

President Linda plans to give each Club member a “Rotary Reminder” at Tuesday’s meeting.  Plan to attend and participate in spreading the word about Rotary in Sedona.

Fund Raising Committee Moves Into High Gear…

Committee members are asked to attend a brief meeting at 11:30 Tuesday, August 5 prior to the regular Rotary meeting at Los Abrigados.  Final plans for the first Ethnic New Years celebration-Rosh Hashanah will be discussed.

Mark your calendar for Sunday, September 14, 2008, 3-6PM at the Jewish Community Center.  More details in next week’s newsletter.
