Veterans Day Meeting Memorable…

Rotarians observed Veterans Day last week with a thoughtful invocation from Merv Shapan.  Assistant District Governor Connie Bullock recognized our Club for being one of only 719 Rotary clubs worldwide to become an Every Rotarian, Every Year Club!  This achievement recognizes a personal contribution to the RI Foundation of $100 or more by each active Rotarian last year.  The highlight of the meeting was a presentation by Sedona artist Susan Kliewer.  Susan is nationally recognized for her unique Southwestern bronzes.  Her award winning bronze, “Mischievous Ones”, will be a major focus of our Club’s 2009 fund raising activities.

.Merv Shapin accepts club recognition for being an Every Rotarian, Every Year.Sculptor Susan Kliewer explains how bronze sculptures are created.

Did You Know?…

Eddie Passov and Catherine Moore are interviewing potential youth delegates to RYLA which will be held at Camp Pinerock in Prescott.  Our Club sponsors two delegates.

Our New Year All Year Around Korean New Year Event will be held January 25,
5 pm at the Mago Café.  A terrific evening of Korean cuisine and entertainment is planned.  The Café will accommodate only fifty people; so plan to sign up soon.

Mark your calendar for Rotary’s Holiday Party which will be held at 6 pm on December 16, 2008 at Relics.  The regular Club meeting will not be held that day.
