The Rotary Club
of Sedona joined thousands of Rotary Clubs around the globe by contributing
to Rotary Internationals’ top philanthropic goal to eradicate polio
worldwide. Sedona’s Rotarians raised
$1,000 through recent New Years All Year Around events to donate to the Polio
Plus campaign. To date, Rotarians
worldwide have contributed nearly $800 million to the protection of more than
two billion children in 122 countries.
Rotary International, through its 33,000 Rotary Clubs, is currently working to raise
an additional $200 million toward a $355 million challenge grant from the
Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Did You Know? …. ·
The Final Inch, a documentary which chronicles
the challenges health organizations and governments face during the final
stages of polio eradication, was one of the nominees for Best Documentary
Short Subject at the 22nd Academy Awards celebration last
weekend. You can view its trailer on

We will join with the Red Rock Rotary Club in cosponsoring next
year’s inbound Rotary Exchange Student.
This year the District will host 18 inbound students. ·
Wear your green. Sedona’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be
held again this year on March 14th. Rotarians begin the parade at the Gorchesky

Raise a glass with your fellow Rotarians at a Happy Hour, Thursday,
March 12, 5:30 to 7:30 pm at Reds. ·
