Community Services Projects

Service Above Self

The Rotary Club of Sedona provides community services both with financial contributions and with hands-on effort. Here are some of the ongoing programs.

The St. Andrew's church dinner's are always a big hit with all participants, Rotarian's and community members alike.  The dinners are always held on a Monday each week and our Sedona Rotary club puts one on every 2-3 months.  We've been having BBQ lately and the food is always appreciated for both meat eaters and vegetarians.

The Veteran's History Project is conducting Veteran interview's at  the Sedona Public Library on Wednesday's of each week. The Sedona Public Library is an official partner of the Library of Congress where the VHP interview's are archived.  For more information about this project go to www.loc.gov/vets or contact Jolene Pierson at 928.282.7999.

We are in our 20th year of litter lifting along 89A entering Sedona from the west. Coordinator is Ron Larson.

Patricia Welter, wife of Rotarian Bill Welter, heads up an English as a second language program sponsored by St. John Vianney Church. Our club holds gingerbread house building parties each December for the ESL learner families and we are working on a program to make language learning even more accessible through the Sedona Library.

The Rotary Club of Sedona and the Red Rock Quilters, a chapter of the Arizona Quilters Guild, have joined together in a mutual effort of community support and outreach. The quilt guild has received a simplified grant of $2500 from the Rotary District 5490 and the Club to underwrite its community service projects for the following year.
