The Great Sedona Chili Cook-Off has the 2017 line-up of restaurants already registered, with others waiting in the wings.

After taking a year off,El Rincon Restaurante Mexicano, the competitions winningest Restaurant, is back again this year. Can't wait to taste what they cook up! They will be challenged by Tamaliza Market, Café Paleo Brio, Hideway House, Mesa Grill, Garland’s Oak Creek Lodge, Whole Foods  and HP Café. There is even a waiting list this year.
Sedona Mayor Sandy Moriarty had so much fun serving up chili last year that she wants to do it again!  This year Sandy will compete with Cottonwood Mayor Tim Elinski, and last year's Fire Station winner, Kris Kazian, Fire Chief of the Sedona Fire District. In addition, Michael Briggs and Mike Speilman are teaming up to represent Verde Valley School in the Community Competition.

Here is a new major sponsor benefit we are offering this year.  On Sunday, May 7th (the day after the Chili Cook-Off) famed chef Jeff Smedstad of Elote is going to host a very exclusive TEQUILA TASTING EVENT to benefit the programs of the Rotary Club of Sedona.   We're calling it a "Master Class" in tequila tastings as well as an ingredient in gourmet cuisine. There will be special tequila tastings, with brief lectures and audio visuals by tequila experts and special small bites that Chef Jeff will present to pair with the tequila.  We expect to have less than 30 tickets available for this first-of-its kind event (some of which have already been claimed).

We are offering our Great Sedona Chili Cook-Off $1,000 Habanero Sponsors the first right to purchase two (2) tickets to the tequila tasting event at the ticket’s face value -- $125 per ticket. Already some $250 and $500 sponsors have upgraded to $1,000 to take advantage of this opportunity.

In Honor of Rod and Ron

Within only two weeks in April, 2015 the Rotary Club of Sedona lost two of our most active members. From the beginning of the Great Sedona Chili Cook-Off (GSCCO) Rod and Ron have been the dynamic duo recruiting restaurants to participate and obtaining sponsors. Even in 2015, although very ill, these men were on the phone doing their part to make the year a success. In view of this and the many other services that they performed for the Rotary Club and for the community, the GSCCO is now dedicated to their honor.
