The perfect way to spend Sunday afternoon, May 7, in a Tequila Master's Class style event at Elote. Representatives from two top Tequila brands, Herradura and Patron explained the tequila making process while Chef Jeff Smedstad served small plates to complement each tequila flight. All this to benefit the Verde Valley Imagination Library.

Chef Jeff explained that as he was exploring what charitable organization Elote would like to support, he learned that several of his employees were receiving books each month from Imagination Library for their preschool children. As he learned more about the program and what it means to the families it was decided that Elote would put on a benefit event for Imagination Library in the Verde Valley.

Small place mats listed the small plates and tequila pairings. After learning the aging and characteristics of each tequila, Jeff explained how the food would complement the tequila to be sampled.

The food and drink exceeded expectations. On arrival guests were treated to a light aperitif and there were small cordials from time to time.

Rotary 5490 District Governor, Danny Mesersmith, presented Elote and Jeff a plaque of appreciation for the event.
