How to Become a Rotarian

The Rotary Club of Sedona is a member of Rotary International. Rotarians are members of this club. By joining the Rotary Club of Sedona you become part of a worldwide network of professionals working for peace and a better world through humanitarian projects. To learn more about Rotary International visit www.rotary.org.
Why Join the Rotary Club of Sedona?

The Rotary Club of Sedona is a diverse group of professionals who love to have fun and do good things for the community and for the World at large. We clean up highways; we cook meals for the needy; we give scholarships; we host students and Rotarians from other countries to foster international understanding; we support local charities; we support world-wide humanitarian projects through the Rotary Foundation; and we are open to new projects that address community needs.

If you are looking for ways to serve the community and the world, if you believe in "service above self" and if you would enjoy the fellowship of other people with these characteristics, then you should be interested in our club.

Many of our members were Rotarians in another club before relocating to Sedona. We welcome you! Come and visit our club; bring a banner if you are still a member of a club; and get acquainted.

What are the requirements to be a Rotarian?

Rotary membership is by invitation. What that means is that we need to get to know you. That is easily accomplished; just call the number listed in the Contact information in the left column of this page or email membership@sedonarotary.org and let us know that you would like to visit.

Rotary International spells out these qualifications:

A qualified candidate for Rotary club membership is an adult of good character and good business, professional, or community reputation. The candidate fits one of the following criteria:

  • Holds or has held an executive position with discretionary authority in any worthy and recognized business or profession
  • Serves or has served as a community leader
  • Is a Rotary Foundation alumna

There are monetary and time commitments for membership. For example there are weekly meetings that you are expected to attend. But one of the great benefits of Rotary is the ability to make up meetings at other clubs, in your immediate area or in another part of the world, even on the Internet! Your Rotary button becomes an instant introduction wherever you travel.
