COVID-19 Mask Project

Club & partners make masks & gowns for Verde Valley Medical Center

About three weeks ago, Rotary Club of Sedona member Penny Blazej let club members know she could make masks for them and their loved ones during the Coronavirus crisis. Once the word got out Penny's project snowballed. Now she has a team of Rotarians, neighbors and two organizations sewing masks and gowns, providing supplies and making deliveries. So far the Rotary Club of Sedona team has produced 185 masks and 5 gowns, mostly for Verde Valley Medical Center and some to Verde Valley Caregivers Coalition and the Mayo Clinic. Penny says she's still in need of sewers so if anyone can help please contact her at 760-685-3403.

"There are many others from my neighborhood (via Next Door Mission Hills website) who have donated elastic and material. Ellen Ferreira (thank you Holli Ploog for referring us to her) of The Sedona Women has coordinated the sewing projects and invited us to join forces.  Also Joy Sinnott (SedonaKind) from the Sedona Women's organization has been providing supplies and taking the finished products to the medical centers.
